Mohamed Salah broke a Premier League record vs Man United yesterday but no one noticed

Mohamed Salah broke yet another record in the Premier League for Liverpool in the draw with Manchester United.

No one will have been as disappointed by Liverpool’s draw against Manchester United as Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian didn’t have his greatest game in a Liverpool shirt. He did squander a few chances and looked a little jaded towards the end of the game.

But he did try his best. He gave it his all on the pitch. As per Fotmob, he took on six shots, created three chances which was the second most for Liverpool and he also scored Liverpool’s decisive penalty.

That penalty at least salvaged a draw which means Liverpool remain level on points with Arsenal on the Premier League table and still one point above Manchester City.

It’s not the end of the world, and there is still a lot left to be played for. Which means Salah will have plenty more opportunities to bounce back.

Salah broke another Premier League record yesterday

Salah has set an extremely high standard since arriving in the Premier League. He just keeps breaking records, time and time again.

On top of that, he continues to perform with goals and assists. This season, he is again enjoying a brilliant campaign in a red shirt.

There is no denying he didn’t quite meet the high standards he has set against Manchester United. Salah should have done better perhaps with a few of his shots.

But it’s also important to note that Andre Onana produced a brilliant performance and made some top saves. Not only to deny Salah, but also Dominik Szoboszlai in the first-half.

Nonetheless, even Onana was unable to prevent Salah from converting Liverpool’s penalty in the last few minutes of the game.

The Egyptian stepped-up and cooly put the ball into the back of the net for his sixth goal at Old Trafford. That is a Premier League record, according to Opta, by a visiting player.

Impressively, Salah held the previous record with five alongside another Liverpool legend in Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool’s next seven fixtures in the Premier League

Liverpool will not give up hope just yet. The Premier League title is still up for grabs and it’s still very much possible for the Reds to be champions.

Arsenal still have a few tough games left. They’ve got to go to Old Trafford and face Tottenham away from home as well. Meanwhile, at home they have the likes of Aston Villa and Chelsea to face as well.

For Liverpool, there are plenty of tough games left to play as well. Although you would feel this one at Old Trafford was probably the toughest.

These are Liverpool’s last seven Premier League matches as follows:

  • Crystal Palace (Home)
  • Fulham (Away)
  • Everton (Away)
  • West Ham (Away)
  • Tottenham (Home)
  • Aston Villa (Away)
  • Wolves (Home)
