Real Madrid icon reacts to Manchester United star dispossessed 0 times against Liverpool

A Real Madrid legend reacts to Manchester United star as he faces Liverpool in the Premier League.

Manchester United came out of a Premier League clash against bitter rivals Liverpool with a point. Was it deserved? Very questionable.

After what was a first-half to forger, two wonder goals from Bruno Fernandes and academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo remarkably put the Red Devils in the ascendancy.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side equalised on the night after Aaron Wan-Bissaka tripped Mohamed Salah in the area. It was a strange game, with mixed performances.

Casemiro not at his best against Liverpool

One performance that Manchester United fans reacted badly to was Casemiro’s. The five-time Champions League winner did not have his best game in red.

Casemiro was extremely sloppy against Liverpool. He tended to give the ball away a lot, which led to immense pressure on the already depleted Manchester United defence.

Saying this, he wasn’t helped by Erik ten Hag’s baffling tactics to man-mark, leaving huge gaps in the midfield – that he simply could not cover.

His game was summed up in the very last minute, he dove into an extremely reckless challenge and obtained a yellow card, whilst subsequently giving United an extremely nervy ending pt the fixture.

His mediocre performance was reflected in his stats on the day, although he was dispossessed 0 times:

Casemiro stats vs Liverpool

  • 90 minutes played
  • 36/52 passes complete (69%)
  • 1 chance created
  • 0/5 accurate long balls (0%)
  • 4/8 ground duels won (50%)
  • 0 times dispossessed
  • 6 clearances
  • 2 blocks
  • 1 interception

One moment of magic, Real Madrid legend reacts

Casemiro did have one moment that got Manchester United fans out of their seats. His bicycle kick pass in the build-up to Kobbie Mainoo‘s wondergoal.

He unleashed his inner Brazilian with this – which was a rarity nice to see. The midfielder was pleased about this himself, taking to Instagram to post a picture of his acrobatic efforts.

It was accompanied by the message: ‘Great effort by all the team at home … thank you, Old Trafford !!!’

Fellow Brazilian and former Real Madrid teammate, Marcelo reacted to this. He seemingly was impressed with Casemiro’s efforts.

We can’t say we exactly agree, however – we aren’t going to question an icon like Marcelo’s judgement!
