Fenland drivers struggle to make their mark at King’s Lynn on Saturday night

It was a disappointing night for BriSCA fans at King’s Lynn on Saturday with Fenland drivers struggling to get into the results.

Many were looking forward to seeing Manea’s Dave Polley in action in the F1 stock cars after he took heat and final at Northampton but a clashing wedding in the West Country saw Polley sit this one out.

There was still plenty to look forward to with Bradley Blyth looking to continue his great run of form and Callum Gill making his 2024 season debut in a stunning-looking new car.

The new BriSCA F1 stock car of 457 Callum Gill wasn’t in the results at King’s Lynn on Saturday but showed plenty of promise

Things started well with Blyth getting a sixth place finish in the white and yellows race but that was the solitary result the pair had for the rest of the night with mechanical gremlins seeing them fail to get in the top ten for the rest of the night.

Desborough’s Ryan Harrison was in storming form during the night as he won heat, final and grand national – the first time ever this has been done in an F1 stock car at King’s Lynn.

Gill will have been pleased to have got some decent laps out of his car though and it has showed plenty of potential on its debut posting the 13th fastest lap of the day out of 43 drivers.

Sam Russell was in action in the F2 stock cars where he finished in seventh place in the opening white top race before scraping into the final with a 12th place finish in his heat but he failed to complete the distance in the feature race.

Spalding’s Pat Issitt was the man to beat in the feature race taking a popular victory.

There is no racing at King’s Lynn this weekend with the next meeting taking place on Sunday, April 21 (1pm) and will feature the 2L stock cars, 1300 stock cars, 2L bangers and junior bangers.
