Three Counties duo participates in Bedford Harriers AC race in preparation for Manchester Marathon

Three Counties Running Club Members are still looking strong and performing well even in tough conditions.

This time of the year there are quite a few 20-mile races for people who are marathon training or just looking to challenge themselves and push for more miles.

Oakley 20 is a fantastic event hosted by Bedford Harriers AC.

The event is very undulating (hilly) on rural country roads around the villages north of Bedford.

Three Counties members Craig Freestone and Tracey Else were both taking part in this race as training for the Manchester Marathon on April 14.

Both members had great runs with Craig finishing in a PB of 2:38:23 and Tracey finishing in 3:25:49.

They were both very happy to have finished the race to claim their finishers' hoodies.

Elsewhere Amy Baxter ran in the Wymondham 20 miler.

The race hosted by Wymondham AC is a two-lap undulating course on quiet rural roads with the race starting in the market place. Baxter enjoyed a great run, gaining an 11-minute PB, to finish in a time of 2:48:22.

Easter Sunday saw two club members run in the Fakenham 5k.

Rachael Elliot and Les Phillips both competed with Phillips finishing in 23:58 and Elliot in 31:51.
