Wisbech Squash Club completes a court refurbishment project aimed at enhancing the overall experience for members

Wisbech Squash Club is thrilled to announce the completion of a court refurbishment project aimed at enhancing the overall experience for its existing members and new members.

The club's commitment to providing fantastic facilities and a growing community for squash and racketball has reached new heights with these exciting court upgrades.

The refurbishment works are a part of the club's aim to promote the sport to the community in and around the Wisbech area.

Commenting on the refurbishments, Wisbech Squash Club committee chair Colin Hunt said: “We are excited to unveil these refurbishments, which represent our ongoing dedication to creating an exceptional environment for squash and racketball in the town.

"The club is being transformed into a fantastic facility that caters to the needs of our members, creating a sense of community and a love for the game.”

The upgrades follow on from a positive spell for the club, with membership numbers almost doubling in the past two years.

It marks an exciting time for the sport as squash was confirmed to be included at the LA28 Olympic Games.

Previous court refurbishment works were carried out in November 2022 where all court lighting was upgraded to LED lighting.

The club would like to express a massive thank you to all existing members who

continue to support the club by playing regular squash and racketball, without them, these refurbishments would not be possible.

Thanks also go out to courtmasters, who carried out the refurbishment works.

Wisbech Squash Club has been serving the squash and racketball community in Wisbech for more than 50 years and is a hub for players of all ages and abilities, providing great facilities, weekly events, and a supportive community.

Weekly club nights are held on Tuesdays from 7pm for squash and Thursdays from 6.15pm for racketball.

The club invites everyone to attend these nights and play a few social games, you do not have to be a member to come along.
