Premier League club have made it clear to 26-year-old that they want him to stay amid Chelsea interest

One Premier League club look reluctant to do business with Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea could be in the market for new defenders when the transfer window opens. They have issues at both left-back and centre-back.

It has been another season where Ben Chilwell has not been able to stay fit. In central defence, Benoit Badiashile has also picked up injuries, while Wesley Fofana has not played a game this term.

Thiago Silva’s contract also expires at the end of the campaign, with Mauricio Pochettino revealing that the club are yet to actually discuss his situation.

Chelsea could now turn to one of their Premier League rivals to help solve their centre-half issue.

Premier League club do not want to sell defender to Chelsea

Chelsea may struggle to get one of their reported targets out of his club this summer.

According to HITC, the Blues have an interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Max Kilman.

Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United are also said to be keen, so Kilman appears to be a man in-demand at the moment.

However, the same outlet has stated that Wolves have told the 26-year-old’s representatives that they want him to stay at Molineux for at least another season in a potential blow to the likes of Chelsea and United.

Why Chelsea fans would take a liking to Max Kilman

There are actually quite a few things that appeal about Kilman.

Now captaining Wolves, the Englishman has developed into a bit of a leader at Molineux, while he also has quite a bit of Premier League experience.

What Chelsea fans will really appreciate about Kilman, though, is the fact that he grew up supporting the club.

It could be one to keep an eye on this summer, especially if Silva does depart. But it looks like Wolves will fight to keep hold of their skipper.
