Report: The plan Newcastle currently have formed for when Minteh arrives this summer

Newcastle United’s attack could have a very different look next season.

Indeed, while Alexander Isak appears to be the player Eddie Howe wants to build Newcastle around going forward, the options either side of him in a 4-3-3 remain unclear.

Anthony Gordon is surely a nailed-on starter next season after a breakout year for both club and country but the recent form of Harvey Barnes does put pressure on him.

Pundits such as Joleon Lescott have talked in glowing terms about the potential of seeing those three players operate together and there is little doubt that is hugely exciting from a Newcastle perspective.

Other than those three names, it’s hard to definitively say any other of the forwards will be at St James’ Park next season, aside from perhaps Jacob Murphy – who is highly rated by Howe.

Miguel Almiron has been strongly linked with a move away this summer, along with Callum Wilson.

As of now, no one quite knows what attackers Newcastle will be signing or selling this summer.

Still, one man is guaranteed to come into the club, albeit his future beyond that is also unclear.

Yankuba Minteh, who is thrilling on loan with Feyenoord, is due to return to parent club Newcastle at the end of the season.

Some insight into what the plan with him is has now emerged.

What Newcastle have planned for Yankuba Minteh this summer

According to the Shields Gazette, the 19-year-old will be assessed by the club’s staff to determine whether or not he is ready for regular first-team football in the Premier League.

Yankuba Minteh’s stats this season are seriously exciting

The teenager has largely operated on the right-wing for Feyenoord, a spot that could be open in the Newcastle attack next season should Almiron depart.

Minteh scored twice for Feyenoord in their famous 6-0 win over Ajax on Sunday, taking his overall tally to ten goals and four assists in 32 games across all competitions.

Clearly, life in the Premier League would be a step-up but his stunning form cannot be ignored.
