Nottingham Forest 22-year-old breaks social media silence with six-word message to Reds supporters

After a defeat, it’s often rare that Nottingham Forest players come out and say much on social media. Now, one of the club’s most underrated players has broken the silence after a 3-1 defeat at Tottenham.

The Reds were pretty unlucky in their latest defeat of the 2023/24 campaign. Chris Wood equalised a Murillo own goal and then proceeded to miss a sitter thatdrew critique from Gary Lineker.

Forest did have a good go, however. This wasn’t like last season when Forest lost by the same scoreline at Tottenham and ultimately rolled over to have their bellies tickled.

On this occasion, things might have been different had Forest had a little more luck.Mark Halsey actually thought James Maddison should have seen red during this one for punching Ryan Yates.

Still, this was a performance that should give Forest some confidence going into a couple of winnable games against Wolves and Everton in the coming weeks.

Now, one player has broken the silence after the weekend – taking to Instagram to send a message to the club’s supporters ahead of next weekend’s huge City Ground clash.

Neco Williams reacts as Nottingham Forest lose to Tottenham

Well, Williams is one of the more active players on social media. Typically he’s one to speak out whether the result has been good, bad or indifferent and he’s proving a popular player with the fan base this season.

The £17 million signing from Liverpool has taken some time to settle at Forest. He was in and out of the team during 2022/23 but in fairness to him, he’s made the position his own this season.

Now, after last night’s defeat to Tottenham, Williams has taken toInstagram to post a six-word response to the club’s fan base. He said: “Positives to take. Onto the next.”

Williams can help the Reds stay in the Premier League this season

It’s time for the talking to stop really from a Forest perspective. They were brilliant on Tuesday night in thrashing Fulham and ultimately they have to keep reproducing that performance.

Williams has been a standout performer this season for Forest. He was named the Player of the Month for February and he will likely be up there in the voting for March too.

The 22-year-old has quietly gone about his business during the current campaign and long may it continue. Right now, he’s keeping out the World Cup-winning player Gonzalo Montiel and he will hope to keep the shirt for the remainder of the campaign.
