New documentary shares what Rodri and Jack Grealish did at Nottingham Forest after 1-1 draw last year

A documentary about Nottingham Forest would likely make interesting viewing but as of yet the All or Nothing cameras from Amazon haven’t made it to the City Ground.

Now, the BBC have been poking their lense at Manchester City once again following their treble-winning exploits of 2022/23, where they won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

There is always something going on behind the scenes atForest. In the summer of 2022, 30 new players came to the club and that would have been an intriguing watch from afar.

When Arsenal made their All or Nothing debut, Forest featured. Mikel Arteta saw his side dumped out of the FA Cup in the third round during 2021/22 and the documentary showed him looking far from impressed.

A Lewis Grabban goal won things for Forest that day and afterwards Arteta questioned the minerals of his players. In a comical moment, he appeared to trip over Sead Kolasinac’s rogue flip-flop when trying to storm out of the room.

Now, Forest have been in the spotlight again on the new Manchester City documentary, The Reds held the champions to a 1-1 draw in February 2023 and the aftermath of that game has now been featured in a new production.

What Rodri did at Nottingham Forest after 1-1 draw with Manchester City

This game was the only time that the City Ground played Depeche Mode’s hit Just Can’t Get Enough after anything other than a win in the Premier League. The draw stunned the Premier League and likely saw a lot of people lose on their accumulators.

When Bernardo Silva scored just before half-time it was anticipated that this would be a precession. Only it wasn’t and with six minutes remaining, Chris Wood made City pay for missing a host of gilt-edged chances.

The draw threw Arsenal a title lifeline and now it’s come to light that Spain star Rodri was less than impressed. City star in the new BBC docu-series titled, Together: Treble Winners and Forest have made the final cut.

After the draw, Rodri was absolutely furious with his teammates. He let them have both barrels when he returned to the dressing room and he hinted that the title race was close to being lost.

He said on Together: Treble Winners: “We don’t want this Premier League. We don’t want it. Three goals in line! We don’t want the Premier League. What are we doing, guys? We missed one, we missed two. I’m not blaming anyone, guys. But if we want to win this Premier League we have to grasp it.”

Jack Grealish also finishes off by concurring with Rodri. He adds: “We go to the Emirates, and it means nothing now.”

Forest can compete with the best at the City Ground

Last season was memorable on Trentside for all of the right reasons. Very few came to the City Ground and conquered with Manchester United and Newcastle the only two teams to leave Forest with all three points in the Premier League during the second half of the season.

This season, the stadium hasn’t quite been the same fortress. For some reason, the atmosphere has dropped off a little bit and the team has suffered in some games on home soil at certain points of the campaign.

However, Tuesday’s win over Fulham suggested that Forest are ready to bring the noise in the final weeks of the season. Interestingly, the Reds still have Manchester City to play and a similar result against the treble-winners as last year would be lovely.

For now, Forest will have to wait for a broadcaster to pick up the rights to produce a documentary on their own football club. It is nice, however, to see City join Arsenal in leaving the City Ground feeling rather disgruntled during recent trips to Nottingham.
