Military bloggers noted the difference between the reality on the battlefield and the information spread in the Russian information space, according to the ISW report.

Bloggers emphasize that Russian commentators may laugh at Ukraine's counteroffensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction, and then lose many times more Russian soldiers in Avdiivka, and conclude that Russia is lying to itself about the losses it suffers in the war.

One military blogger questioned why Russian media are fixated on footage of unsuccessful attacks by Ukrainian armoured vehicles during the counteroffensive in the summer of 2023, even though Russian forces themselves face many of the same tactical problems when conducting similar attacks, especially due to the large number of drones in the combat space.

Russian bloggers argue about the use of Russian armoured vehicles and their resilience on the battlefield, as well as about the conduct of Russian attacks. They continue to make arguments about how the war is being conducted, debate the tactics of using armoured vehicles, and the effectiveness of attacks.

ISW also suggests that many bloggers understand very well the impact that these discussions have on a broader understanding of the war.
