People can make all the assumptions they want about Deon and Karen Derrico and their 14 kids. But, one thing that can’t be argued with is the fact that juggling 14 children of all different stages of life has got to be a challenge. During the latest Doubling Down with the Derricos trailer, one star is seen suffering a scary medical emergency.
Doubling Down with the Derricos stars Deon and Karen have to run a tight ship when it comes to their home and kids’ schedules. They’re also in the midst of Deon’s mother’s cancer battle, and the all-new trailer sees the family moving home. There’s clearly a lot going on for the TLC duo and even their relationship appears to be under strain as Karen tells her husband: “I’m tired of waiting.”
The Derricos are back
Karen and Deon Derrico are the parents of not four, but fourteen children. Yep, that’s right, there’s never a dull moment in their household.
Speaking during the TLC show, Deon says: “When people find out we have 14 children, four sets of multiples, they just picture the chaos.”
The all-new episodes are filled with screaming, and lots of fun, by the looks of things, but woah, it would be a lot for anyone to handle.
To top things off, some of the kids are at different stages in life to others, Deon explains: “Of the eight boys, five of them are going through puberty, and my boys are girl crazy.”
The couple also moves into a big house they have to renovate and tackle even more “problems.”
Karen can be seen saying she “expected a lot more” with the home overhaul feeling like it’s at “ground zero.”
Doubling Down with the Derricos medical emergency
The Doubling Down with the Derricos season 5 trailer sees Karen suffer a medical emergency.
After snippets throughout the upcoming episodes are shown, the clip ends with scenes of Karen who appears to be collapsed on the ground behind a car in a parking lot.
As soon as Deon notices his wife has fallen ill, he says: “Hey Karen? She’s hurt” and walks over to her.
Karen’s husband asks: “What happened?” as the production team says: “Somebody check her pulse. Are you checking her pulse? Do you know how to do that?”
The producer adds: “Let’s not everybody crowd her,” as an ambulance comes driving around the bend.
Viewers are left on a cliffhanger as Deon kneels next to his wife asking: “Karen, what’s wrong?”
Fans can rest easy now, though, as Karen has since taken to the ‘gram and appears to be fine. She posted on her 44th birthday back in February, and wrote: “Thank you Jesus for allowing me to see Year 44!!”
