Car and Yamaha motorbike in serious injury accident in Newbury

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury traffic accident in Newbury.

The incident occurred at around 9.45pm on Wednesday, March 6, at the junction of Oxford Street and Old Bath Road.

A car and a white Yamaha 125cc motorcycle were involved in the collision.

A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries in the incident and remains in hospital.

Investigating officer PC Gareth Miles said: “I would ask for anyone who was in or near the area in which this collision took place to get in touch with us if you saw the incident or anything leading up to it.

“Also, if any motorists in the area have dash-cams, please check the footage in case anything significant was caught as it could help our investigation.

A man was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and other offences and has been released under investigation.
