Player Moyes let go for peanuts in 2021 now set for big move to Juventus

David Moyes allowed one specific player to leave West Ham United in the summer of 2021, and that’s now looking like a mistake.

West Ham boss David Moyes has been very much hit and miss with his transfers since returning to the London Stadium for the second time in December 2019.

For every Tomas Soucek there has been a Gianluca Scamacca, and every Mohammed Kudus, a Nikola Vlasic.

The Hammers manager has probably made more good signings than bad ones over the past four-and-a-half years in fairness to him.

However, one of the Scot’s clear blindspots is giving up on players too quickly, and selling them on at a huge loss.

That has happened far too regularly for my liking over the past couple of years, and one player we let go is now set for a big summer move it seems…

Player David Moyes let go from West Ham now set for big Juventus move

The Hammers manager may well be shaking his head this morning after reading the latest transfer rumours.

One of our former stars has been in fine form since leaving us, and now he appears to be closing in on a move to European giants Juventus.

Another big transfer mistake made by Moyes? Possibly…

According to Fabrizio Romano, a player who left the London Stadium back in 2021 is now being lined up for a major summer transfer.

Ex-Hammer Felipe Anderson is apparently very close to joining Juventus on a free transfer from Lazio.

The Hammers sold the 30-year-old to Lazio for around £3 million in the summer of 2021, and we apparently included a 50% sell-on clause in the deal.

Since David Moyes allowed the Brazilian to leave West Ham, he has bagged 22 goals and 24 assists in 141 games for Lazio (Transfermarkt).

I really feel like if we kept hold of him, he could have gone on to be a success with us, especially if he played alongside our current forward line.

It will be interesting to see how Anderson gets on with Juve. If he’s a big hit in Turin, Moyes will surely regret the decision he made to let him leave three years ago.
