Eric Dier admits £27m Arsenal star has now ‘proved’ he’s a ’really, really good player'

Bayern Munich ace Eric Dier has now named one Arsenal star that he is particularly wary of facing in their Champions League clash.

Arsenal will welcome Bayern Munich to the Emirates Stadium for the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday evening.

How do Arsenal and Bayern Munich match up?

The German giants will bring plenty of star names and a big reputation with them to North London. In the likes of Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, and Leroy Sane, amongst others, they certainly have players capable of hurting the Gunners.

It has been claimed that Bayern Munich outclass Arsenal on an individual player basis. However, there is plenty of quality in Mikel Arteta’s squad, too.

Arteta has now been told how his Arsenal side can target Bayern Munich’s vulnerabilities. Exploiting these chinks in the visitors’ armour, though, will require Arsenal’s key attacking players to be at their best. Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Kai Havertz will need to be ruthless and efficient against Thomas Tuchel’s side.

There is one other player who Bayern Munich will be worried about having to keep at bay.

Eric Dier sounds warning about Leandro Trossard ahead of Arsenal v Bayern Munich

Former Tottenham Hotspur star and current Bayern Munich defender, Eric Dier, has now named Leandro Trossard as an Arsenal danger man.

The Belgian attacker reminded everyone of his quality against his former club, Brighton and Hove Albion, last time out. Having been played through on goal by Havertz late on in that match, the 29-year-old kept a cool head and produced a delightful dink to beat Bart Verbruggen and find the back of the net.

Trossard has been hailed as the best finisher in the Arsenal squad, and despite not being a regular starter he has still been able to rack up 12 strikes this season, across all competitions. If the £27 million man makes it onto the pitch, and a presentable opportunity comes his way against Bayern Munich, then he can be relied upon to convert.

Dier is well aware of this. Speaking to Gary Neville on The Overlap, the ex-Spurs man admitted, “Trossard has proved a really, really, really good player there, as well…That’s something we’ll have to pay a lot of attention to…we’ll have to keep our eyes out.”

The Gunners will need to take their chances on Tuesday as it is vital that they make the most of their home advantage in this first-leg and can then go to the Allianz Arena with a lead to protect. Arsenal will be given another boost in this regard as Bayern Munich will not be allowed to bring any of their own fans with them to the Emirates Stadium.
