Patrice Evra sends message to Willy Kambwala after breakout Man Utd display

The Manchester United academy has done it again, with Willy Kambwala’s latest performance establishing him in the first team.

Manchester United drew 2-2 with Liverpool on Sunday and in the game, as we all know the standout performer was Willy Kambwala.

The 19-year-old Frenchman was drafted into the centre-half position for only his second start due to injuries and shone brightly.

He was in impeccable form as he dealt comfortably with Darwin Nunez and played a huge part in United keeping Liverpool at bay.

Due to how excellent he was a new contract now looks likely with Ineos keen to tie him down.

Now, an Old Trafford legend has sent Kambwala a message.

The performance from Kambwala caught many off guard given how he struggled in his only previous Premier League start against West Ham.

United posted a clip on Instagram, showing Kambwala in action against Nunez.

Under this post, Patrice Evra commented with a touching message to the youngster.

He wrote: “Determination, passion, discipline proud of you again and again @willy_kams”.

This message is nice to see and shows the relationship between the two Frenchmen, especially as the teen replied with a flame emoji and two hearts.

Evra wasn’t the only one to send Kambwala a message with Kobbie Mainoo also sending one after the performance.

Kambwala’s passion for Manchester United is a standout

One thing which has always stood out in Kambwala is how much he loves the club and this became even more clear as he celebrated each tackle as though he’d scored.

This just reminded everyone of the fact he’s a United fan and always has been.

Now his comments from previously with club media have recirculated.

“No other club, even England, I wasn’t thinking about England, I was thinking just about Man Utd. Why? I don’t really know but since I can remember it was just Man Utd.

“I couldn’t even watch football but just Man Utd, Man Utd all the time, so that was my dream, the only one I had.”
