Arsenal legend Kolo Toure was a key member of the last defence to win a title, and was a fan favourite of the Invincibles side.

Toure made 326 appearances for Arsenal across a spell lasting over seven years, and won a Premier League title as well as two FA Cups before joining Manchester City in 2009.

The centre-back formed an outstanding partnership with Sol Campbell as Arsenal won the title in 2004, and to this day, is still a much-loved figure at the club despite going on to play for Man City and Liverpool in his career.

Toure holds a rare achievement as being one of the only players in the world to have gone Invincible twice, completing an unbeaten season with Celtic in his later years, and he had an outstanding career full of plenty of trophies and key moments.

Kolo Toure names favourite moment of his career

Toure has now told The High Performance Podcast that his favourite moment within his career did not come at Arsenal, but at Man City as he was then joined by his brother Yaya Toure.

“It was special. For me it was the best moment of my career I would say, having Yaya with me,” he revealed.

Toure joined Man City in July 2009, and was joined by his brother Yaya a year later, who arrived as a big-name signing from Barcelona.

Kolo would go on to make 102 appearances for City, winning the title in 2011-12, whilst Yaya had a much more successful career at the Etihad, going down as one of the best midfielders in Premier League history.

Yaya Toure did actually line up for Arsenal once, in a pre-season friendly against Barnet in 2003 as a trialist, but he was not signed as Arsene Wenger could not determine what his best position was.

It took him years to realise his best position, with Yaya Toure playing at centre-back for Barcelona before moving to an advanced midfield role at Man City.

If Yaya did join Arsenal at the time, he may not have found as much success as he did, but he would have played alongside Kolo, as well as Patrick Vieira in what could have been a formidable midfield, and Kolo may have ended up staying even longer.

There may be some regret from Wenger, and Kolo Toure, that Yaya did not join the Gunners, and Kolo could perhaps have enjoyed his time at the club even more than he did if it was alongside his brother.
