Andy Carroll sends message to West Ham in rare post on social media

Andy Carroll has sent a six-word message to former club West Ham in a rare post on social media and fans will love to see it.

Andy Carroll carved out cult hero status for himself during his time at West Ham.

Injuries meant he did not play as many game or score as many goals as he should have for the Hammers.

But the fact West Ham fans hold their former number nine in such high regard says everything about the desire, effort and passion Carroll showed every time he played for the club.

As many supporters will know, former Hammers striker Carroll married into a family of West Ham fans when he got together with ex TOWIE star Billi Mucklow.

He was spotted with his Hammers supporting family following West Ham out to Holland for that European semi-final against AZ Alkmaar last season.

Carroll was pictured having a great time with supporters ahead of that memorable 1-0 win which set up the final against Fiorentina.

Since them Carroll has made a surprise move from Reading to French second division side Amiens.

Earlier this season he opened up on his time at West Ham in a revealing interview with The Daily Mail.

Carroll said he was happy at West Ham and loved his time at the club.

But he revealed his time turned stale and abuse he received made him ‘fall out of love with everything’ and not want to leave the house.

Carroll says people were making up stories about him while also criticising the drug chant sang by West Ham fans.

It saddened many Hammer supporters to hear that.

But now Carroll has sent a message to West Ham in a rare post on social media and fans will love it.

Eight years ago today Carroll scored a hat-trick in a 3-3 draw with Arsenal at Upton Park.

West Ham posted a video of the big man’s goals on that sun-drenched day.

And Carroll has responded saying: “Some great memories at this club,” signing off with COYI.

It is Carroll’s first actual message posted from his X account since last September.

Fans will be glad to see it as it shows he does still care about the club.

It also shows there are no hard feelings after he opened up on the difficult ending to his time with the Hammers.
