Before Ariana Madix discovered her boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, was having an affair with her friend, Rachel Leviss, there were a few Scandoval clues he left hinting there was trouble in paradise.
From partying while Ariana Madix grieved her dead dog, to refusing to watch Love Island with her, Tom Sandoval didn’t exactly try to hide the red flags he displayed before Scandoval came out.
Sandoval partied after Ariana’s dog died
The affair between Tom Sandoval and Rachel began right after Madix’s dog, Charlotte, had died. Sandoval decided to go out and dance with Leviss instead of being there for his partner, who he had been dating for nine years.
After the See You Next Tuesday event at SUR, Sandoval and Raquel Leviss found themselves “locked out” of his house – where he lives with Madix – leading to their first hook-up. This relationship then continued for seven months.
The two slept together in Rachel’s car while Ariana grieved. After finding out, Rachel told Ariana the affair started after the girls’ trip, to which she responded, “You mean right after Charlotte died?”
A flashback then shows Ariana telling her female castmates seven months earlier she needs to leave the trip because her dog Charlotte “is not going to come back this time.”
Miami Girl was the first sign
Rumors Tom had cheated on Ariana swirled several years ago, but she was already aware. He’s since admitted he did, as well as one other time, but this happened way before Scandoval.
Ariana said on WWHL that Miami Girl and Tom “slept together” before they were exclusive. She told a fan: “I didn’t want people to think the absolute worst of the man I was going to spend my life with.”
Ariana and Madix weren’t intimate
Ariana opened up to Rachel about how she and Sandoval weren’t being intimate. She admitted their bedroom life “waxed and waned” throughout their nine-year relationship.
Rachel told her then-friend she “should want to” sleep with her partner, to which Ariana argued she and Tom “have to be emotionally intimate to be physically intimate.”
He refused to watch her fave shows
Ariana revealed on Vanderpump Rules season 10 she was a huge fan of Love Island USA, during a chat with then-boyfriend Tom Sandoval in episode 14, on how they could spend more quality time together.
She said he didn’t like some of the same things as her, telling Tom, “You don’t sit there and watch episodes of Love Island with me.”
He responded, “I don’t have time to watch 50 goddamn episodes.”
Tom then added, “That is your definition of quality time, not the definition of quality time.”
By season 11, the two had fully broken up, with her bashing him for cheating on her with her former friend.
Tom Sandoval had eyes on Rachel
Sandoval shared a photo of Rachel’s Rachella party, where he dressed up with Ariana. The second slide in the series of pictures shows him stood behind Rachel, who smiled lovingly at the camera.
