Asda Newark announced that £1 Kids Café meal deal initiative extends to all year round

Retailer confirms that children’s £1 café meal deal will run all year round.

Asda Newark, on Lombard Street, Newark, has announced that its popular — Kids Eat for £1 — meal deals will continue throughout the year and not only during school holidays.

The retailers refreshed the children’s menu with more nutritionally balanced offers, including vegan and health options.

Sinead Hinch, Asda Newark’s Community champion, said: ''Our kids eat for £1 initiative is designed to help families and since Asda launched the initiative in June 2022 we've been able to serve over 3 million meals in our cafés.

“I am delighted that we've been able to extend this offer all year round and hope that it will support many more families."

Over 115,000 meals were served throughout the UK across the two week Easter holiday period.

The children’s menu has a variety of offers including penne pasta with meatballs and a vegan hidden veg pasta meal, alongside fish fingers, chicken nuggets and the all day breakfast.

There is also the option of swapping chips for a salad or peas.

In addition, children will receive a free piece of fruit such as an apple, pear or banana when buying the hot £1 meal deal.

As an alternative to a hot meal, Asda Cafés also offer a £1 cold pick and mix selection that includes a sandwich, drink and piece of fruit.

The menu includes treats such as a jelly pot with whole fruit pieces or a jelly squeeze pouch as an alternative to a packet of crisps.

The offer is on all day, every day when the café is open.
