Report: 'Devastating' 26-year-old Tottenham target has 'given approval' to join Inter Milan this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are more than likely to be busy in the transfer market with Spurs sitting in fourth place and likely to be in next season’s Champions League – and are being linked with plenty of players.

Despite the loss of Harry Kane to Bayern, Spurs have been excellent under the brilliant guidance of Ange Postecoglou this season. The Spurs gaffer has got his side playing attractive football and it is working.

The style of football has won fans over, with some sections of Spurs fans questioning the appointment last summer. Also, Postecoglou’s work in the transfer window has been incredible in the last 12 months.

Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Timo Werner, James Maddison and Brennan Johnson have all been superb signings for the London side. Ledley King is surprised no one else wanted to sign van de Ven.

Tottenham suffer blow in pursuit of ‘devastating’ £26m target

But Spurs lack depth. Postecoglou had to sell players last summer after they failed to qualify for Europe for 2023-24. Davinson Sanchez, Harry Winks, Eric Dier and plenty of other players have all left the club.

Now, Spurs need to bulk back up with a Champions League campaign on the horizon. The “devastating” Albert Gudmundsson is one player strongly linked with Spurs – with a £26m fee required to sign him.

A player that has impressed Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko, having had a hand in 18 goals for Genoa this season. Gudmundsson is a top, top player but now Gazzetta Dello Sport have an update on his future.

Albert Gudmundsson prefers move to Inter Milan over Tottenham

The Italian outlet say Inter Milan have been working for a few weeks to do a deal for the Iceland star, and have spoken to Gudmundsson’s entourage and the player himself over a £26m move to the Italian giants.

It is said that Gudmundsson has ‘given approval’ over a move to Inter. A blow to Spurs, with the report stating that Gudmundsson is keen on staying in Italy rather than moving to a foreign league, like England.

Gudmundsson is the perfect player to have. Able to play on either wing, as a 10 or as a striker alongside another. The Icelandic ace is a bargain at £26m. Spurs have to try but it seems a move to Inter is likely.
