Fulham captain admits he made a big mistake about ‘sensational’ Liverpool player this season

Tom Cairney has been speaking about a ‘sensational’ Liverpool talent who he made a big mistake about.

This season, Liverpool’s youngsters have absolutely blown everyone out of the water and surprised most of us.

Under Jurgen Klopp, they have flourished and ensured Liverpool kept their foot in the Premier League title race, lifted the Carabao Cup and continued their run in the Europa League.

So many exciting young players have now established themselves as first team seniors. Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley have been the most notable names.

But there’s also been Jayden Danns and Bobby Clark, whose emergence has been really exciting. As well as a handful of others who have caught the eye and are making great strides in the academy.

Probably, though the most exciting one to have emerged is one who has recently even surprised Fulham’s captain.

How Conor Bradley has emerged from nowhere this season

Bradley has been in brilliant form, and there is no denying he is one of the most exciting young full-backs in European football at the moment.

It’s to his credit that Liverpool haven’t really felt the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold since he has come into the side.

One of the 20-year-old’s first major tests earlier this season was up against Fulham in the Carabao Cup final. Back then, few were really aware of his talent just yet.

But Bradley blew everyone away with his performance and it seems even took Fulham’s captain Tom Cairney by surprise.

What Tom Cairney has said about Conor Bradley

Speaking about young players who surprised them on The Players Channel, Cairney highlighted Conor Bradley after Michael Antonio lavished praise on Kobe Mainoo.

“Micky, I made the same mistake with Liverpool and Conor Bradley!” Cairney said.

“The Carabao Cup win, when they gave him his first start. I was like Willian, get at him, he’s young, he’s fresh, he’s come up through the academy.

“Mate, he was the best player on the pitch. I was like oh my God. And then have you seen what he’s done this season? He’s an absolute joke. I was the same. You see a young kid who you think could be a bit of a weakness, but no, he was sensational.”
