Report: 777 Partners now set new date for when they believe they will be Everton owners

Everton’s takeover at the hands of 777 Partners has dragged on throughout the entire season, dominating the headlines.

However, at last it seems to be reaching its conclusion.

We are still not really much closer to understanding whether they will succeed or not, but the Premier League had set a strict set of conditions with which they had to achieve before acquiring what they sought.

There has since been no real update regarding the progression on that front.

That was, until now.

777 Partners ‘confident’ of new takeover deadline

As penned by the Liverpool ECHO, a fresh deadline has now emerged which 777 Partners seem to have actually set themselves.

Having been given almost unlimited leeway by the Premier League throughout a process that has dragged on for nearly eight months now, this marks the home straight, in which Josh Wander and co could triumphantly, and rather unexpectedly, gather the funds needed to finally realise their ultimate ambition.

Everton would mark the jewel in their multi-club crown.

This latest report states: ‘Sources have told the ECHO that it is unlikely that 777 and MSP reach an agreement to extend the deadline, and this week has largely been centred around 777 finding the more than £300m it needs to satisfy the Premier League’s checklist in order to approve the deal.

‘Sources close to 777, who own a string of other football clubs including the likes of Genoa, Standard Liege, Hertha Berlin, Vasco da Gama, Red Star Paris, and Melbourne Victory, state that the group remains confident of achieving the outcome it set out to, and that the plan was to be ‘in the directors box’ as the new owners of the football club by the time that the Toffees face fellow relegation battlers Nottingham Forest a week on Sunday (April 21).’

Everton need stability

Whilst 777 Partners do have their fair share of detractors, with The Esk one of the most notable and vocal, at this point stability must be the focus for Everton.

So, whilst they might not have the cleanest history, or boast the finest track record when it comes to running football clubs, there are still plenty of positives that can be taken from usurping Farhad Moshiri from his position of power.

After all, things surely can’t get much worse… Can they?

With Everton, it’s hard to tell.

But, what’s certain is that the Toffees will surely dominate their interest should they succeed in their takeover, as they stand to gain far more from succeeding in the Premier League than they do elsewhere.

So, with that in mind, it is worth trying to remain positive even though some outlets are relentless in their efforts to lambast this organisation.
