Grand Canyon: Secrets in Paradise sees actor Armie Hammer mentioned multiple times by ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers. She blames an infamous island curse for their public, scandalous divorce.
Armie Hammer isn’t a cast member on Freeform and Hulu‘s show, Grand Canyon: Secrets in Paradise, but he’s often referred to by ex, Elizabeth Chambers. They moved to the area with two kids, before splitting.

Elizabeth and Armie married in 2010, going on to welcome two children, Harper, nine, and Ford, seven. After they parted ways, Hammer was accused by multiple women of abuse, which he denied.
Elizabeth was then questioned by producers over Hammer’s silence-breaking February 2023 Air Mail interview, who asked how she feels about it. She shut it down, saying, “No. End of discussion.”
Later, she added, “You can write something for clickbait. You can write something for headlines. You can write something for sensation. But ultimately only I know the truth. I’m not f***ing playing that game.”
She blames Grand Canyon for divorce
Elizabeth revealed on a Grand Canyon: Secrets in Paradise confessional, “I moved here with my husband and children three years ago. But things have changed since then.”
“The ‘Cayman Curse’ is when a couple moves to the island together and then they end up separating or divorcing — and it tracks,” the reality TV star then added.
Chambers also hates how public her split was and said having her divorce play out “on a more public platform” was an “absolute hell” and she “wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.”
Elizabeth said: “I went through a very public divorce that was riddled with scandal. Stories were coming out each day and horrific articles, and I was learning about them as it happened.”
“Our divorce is almost final, but it’s not easy,” she added on the show, which was filmed in spring 2023. “The life that we had planned for years basically shattered. That was a really painful period of time.”
“A lot of the trauma that I have experienced in the last two years is behind me,” said Chambers on the show. “And now I think I’m very much at a place where I’m ready for a fresh start on the island.”
