Harry Kane says Arsenal have 'really dangerous' player who made it 'tough' for Bayern

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has now heaped praise on one Arsenal star after the clubs’ 2-2 Champions League draw.

Arsenal will feel frustrated in the wake of their 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

Two defensive errors cost the Gunners in the first-leg of this Champions League quarter-final showdown.

Despite having taken the lead via a Bukayo Saka strike, Mikel Arteta’s side found themselves 2-1 down at the break. Bayern Munich had been able to capitalise upon Arsenal’s uncertainty at back via a Serge Gnabry goal and a Harry Kane penalty.

The Spanish coach turned to his bench in the second half, and Gabriel Jesus was one of those players he called upon in Arsenal’s hour of need.

Gabriel Jesus makes big impact for Arsenal v Bayern Munich

The Brazilian has endured a difficult season so far in front of goal. With 29 appearances now under his belt, the 27-year-old has just 8 strikes to his name. However, 4 of those goals have come in just 7 Champions League outing.

Something about Europe’s elite club competition seems to bring the best out of Jesus and that was the case again on this occasion. Whilst he didn’t find the back of the net himself, the former Manchester City man had a hugely positive impact on the game.

Arsenal fans were wowed by the quick feet and awareness that Jesus showed in the Bayern Munich penalty area as he shifted the ball away from several attendant defenders, before rolling it into the path of Leandro Trossard. The Belgian then dispatched the ball into the bottom corner to level the tie.

Trossard has been described as the best finisher in the Arsenal squad, and he exemplified his quality in this regard in fine fashion. The former Brighton and Hove Albion has now scored twice in as many games for the Gunners.

However, Jesus’ role in the goal is what really caught the eye. Whilst the No. 9 may not be the most prolific or clinical forward himself, his class and technical ability can scarcely be overstated. The speed of thought that Jesus demonstrated in this scenario was described as “frightening” by one journalist.

Even Kane was impressed by the 64-cap Brazil international. As quoted by journalist Chris Wheatley, reporting on X, the former Tottenham Hotspur hitman said, “it was a tough game. Jesus is really dangerous in the box with the chop he has. My last season at Tottenham they were really strong. They’re a really good team. They’re top of the Premier League for a reason.”

Jesus is arguably fighting for his Arsenal future at this time, and he sent out a timely reminder of the impact he is able to have with this vital Champions League contribution.
