Thierry Henry labels Man City star ‘world-class’ after Real Madrid daw

Manchester City played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quater-final tie on Tuesday.

Bernardo Silva gave Pep Guardiola’s men the early lead but Los Blancos fought back with two goals in quick succession with a Ruben Dias own goal and through Rodrygo.

Then it was City’s time to turn the tables as Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol both scored screamers before Federico Valverede levelled with a fine volley.

It was a pulsating game and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was left particularly impressed by one City star he says is now world-class.

Pep Guardiola says Phil Foden was ‘grumpy’ with him after the game

It was yet another fantastic night for Foden, who scored City’s second goal with a fantastic strike from the edge of the area.

Kevin De Bruyne sat out the match on the bench due to an illness that left him throwing up ahead of the game.

This gave Foden the chance to play in his coveted central position and he took it with both hands.

Yet, he was left frustrated afterwards and Guardiola has revealed why.

Rodrygo explains what Man City did not expect from Real Madrid

Rodrygo’s goal might not have been as far out as Foden’s or Gvardiola’s but it was just as nice as he finished off a blistering counter with a deft touch past Stefan Ortega.

The Brazilian was excellent throughout the match and should have scored more than just the one.

City struggled to deal with Rodrygo and now he has exlained why he was able to catch them so off guard.
