One Arsenal star equalled incredible Champions League record during Bayern Munich draw

Arsenal remain alive in the UEFA Champions League after their 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard.

The two forwards were instrumental in getting what might end up being a good result for the Gunners, even with Saka going down in the box in the dying seconds as the likes of Rio Ferdinand and the aforementioned Trossard all believed that the foul was a penalty for Arsenal.

Despite this, the north London side will travel to Germany next week with the hope of progressing to the semi-finals of the Champions League, with former Bayern manager Jurgen Klinsmann giving Arsenal just a 30% chance of beating the Bundesliga giants.

Although Arsenal didn’t get the result they dreamed of, it was a historic night for Trossard, who as per Harvey Downes became only the fourth player in Champions League history to score in their first four home appearances in the tournament.

Equaling the likes of Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero and former Chelsea star Oscar, Trossard joins some quite esteemed company having started life in the Champions League with Arsenal on fire.

Indeed, the 2023 signing from Brighton & Hove Albion has been quite the revelation for Arsenal since arriving last year, with Trossard proving himself to be quite the super-sub as well as a versatile attacking option.

And this week’s goal against Bayern also added to the claim that Trossard is a player for the big games, having already scored this season against the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
