The massive Russian attack on April 11 destroyed the entire generation of Centrenergo energy company. The destruction of the Trypillia thermal power plant was the reason for this, according to Centrenergo.

The company called this day "black" in the history of Centrenergo.

"As a result of today's massive attack, our entire generation was destroyed. Russian troops completely destroyed the Trypillia TPP in the Kyiv region. It's good that all of us who were on shift during the shelling are alive. But we are in great pain...," the statement reads.

A large-scale fire broke out in the turbine shop as a result of the shelling. The company is currently working to localize the fire.

"The scale of the destruction is terrible. Money can't estimate it. This is the biggest challenge for us in the history of the enterprise. But I am convinced that we will cope with it," said Andrii Hota, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PJSC Centrenergo.

The company notes that on March 22, 2024, Zmiivska TPP in the Kharkiv region was completely destroyed, and on July 25, 2022, Russian troops occupied Vuhlehirska TPP in the Donetsk region.

"As of today, Centrenergo has lost 100 percent of its generation," the company states.

Destruction of Trypillia TPP

Today, during a massive night attack, Russia completely destroyed the Trypillia thermal power plant located in the Kyiv region. As a result, a large fire broke out there, and the footage was actively posted online. In turn, the mayor of Ukrainka, where the plant is located, urged residents to close windows in their homes to avoid breathing harmful smoke.

Trypillia TPP is the most powerful power plant in the Kyiv region and was the largest supplier of electricity to Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr regions.
