Ruben Amorim has reportedly already made his mind up about his future, and he will announce his decision soon.
At this moment in time, it feels like Ruben Amorim being the favourite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is the most likely scenario.
Amorim has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool over the last few weeks. After Xabi Alonso’s decision to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, he has become the favourite candidate.
On paper Amorim’s appointment makes sense for Liverpool. He is an exciting young coach, who already has five years worth of experience at a high level in Portugal.
He’s got a track record of delivering success, winning a cup with Braga and delivering a first league title for Sporting CP in 19 years.
At the same time, he also loves to give young players an opportunity and is known as a great man manager.
Ruben Amorim has already decided on his future
Everything points to Amorim being a great candidate. Even his style of football in terms of his high intensity somewhat resembles Klopp’s gegenpressing system.
Although there will be differences. For examples, Amorim has preferred to use a back three, rather than a traditional back four. That means there will be changes at Anfield.
But that’s all part of the process. Ideally, for now though, Liverpool will just want to wrap things up and settle the fate of the club’s new potential manager.
Although fans may have to wait a little bit longer for that decision to come out. According to journalist Pedro Sepúlveda, Amorim has made his decision, but he won’t announce his future until the end of the season.
What does Amorim’s decision mean for Liverpool?
We can only speculate about what this means for Liverpool. The fact that Amorim is not ready to make his decision public could mean a number of things.
You would think though if Amorim’s decision was to stay at Sporting CP, he probably would have expressed that. The fact that he doesn’t could hint at Amorim’s decision being that of leaving the club.
However, it could also mean that he hasn’t made-up his mind yet, and that he is still considering proposals and whether to leave or to stay.
It’s all very mysterious at the moment. Hopefully, Liverpool fans will get some clarity sooner rather than later.
