Films including Barbie and Top Gun Maverick to be shown at Folkestone Harbour Arm outdoor cinema

An outdoor cinema which offers free films and views over the English Channel is returning for summer.

Fan favourites and new releases – including Barbie – fill the programme for the Harbour Screen at the popular Folkestone Harbour Arm.

The season kicks off with Grease on Friday, May 3 from 7pm.

Film fans are able to watch from benches and deckchairs laid out in The Goods Yards, which are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Food and drink will be available from surrounding vendors, seven of which opened over Easter.

Other films to be screened include Mamma Mia!, School of Rock, Clueless, Elvis, Dirty Dancing, Footloose and Top Gun Maverick.

Barbie, the highest-grossing movie of 2023 worldwide, will play on Friday, August 9.

A statement from the harbour arm team said: “We're proud to present our 2024 summer programme of free cinema on The Harbour Screen in The Goods Yard.

“This is our biggest yet; nearly double the size of our 2023 programme, and chock full of outdoor cinema must-sees, cult classics and newer titles.

“All screenings are completely free to enter with tables and deckchairs available on a first come, first serve basis.”

Thousands of people visit Folkestone Harbour Arm each year. As well as the cinema and The Goods Yard food market, it is home to bars and restaurants and a mini golf course.
