Sean Dyche claims that £52k-a-week Everton player who’s been out for 2 months is ‘in the thoughts’ for Chelsea

Everton are back in Premier League action again this weekend, but will have to wait until Monday to face Chelsea.

In a clash which was once one of the most feared fixtures in English football, now the Toffees will be travelling down to west London with a quiet confidence that they can snag a result and continue their mini resurgence.

However, if they are to continue adding to the Blues’ miserable campaign, Sean Dyche will want to boast a clean bill of health throughout his squad.

Fortunately, he is set for a few big boosts.

Will Arnaut Danjuma be fit for Chelsea?

Dyche offered an injury update in his press conference earlier today, focusing on three names initially.

Confirming that Amadou Onana would be fit enough for the Chelsea match, he also gave updates on James Garner and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, despite Arnaut Danjuma, Lewis Dobbin and Dele Alli being the three stars who were widely known to be suffering with ailments.

Well, fortunately a reporter picked him up on that omission, and at least managed to squeeze out an update on the latter.

Dyche noted, when asked about the £52k-a-week Villarreal man: ‘Yeah he’s hopefully, provided he’s come through today which I’m pretty sure he has, he’s got a bounce game tomorrow so we’re going to use that and get him some minutes, and then he should be at least in the thoughts for Monday.’

Danjuma has been out injured ever since he was carried off against Fulham at the end of February.

Everton need some new attacking impetus

Even if they have claimed two fine results in the past two games, it has been far from the emphatic return to form that many fans have craved.

After all, a 1-1 draw at Newcastle United marked a fine outing, even if their equaliser came from a late penalty.

Then, hosting Burnley, whilst they did forge a few clear chances they simply did not put their ten-men opponents to the sword as many hoped they might.

So, should Danjuma pull through and be fit, he could provide that fresh attacking impetus needed to actually start converting their chances into goals.

Not only would he provide a different kind of energy and firepower on the flank, but the rekindled danger of Calvert-Lewin might even afford him the necessary space needed to truly cause chaos in the Chelsea defence.

He is certainly worth a punt, but only if he is passed fit.
