'Morgan is...': £7m Wolves ace shares what he honestly thinks of Gibbs-White ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Wolves are back in Premier League action on Saturday against Nottingham Forest – and Jose Sa has been speaking about Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the clash.

Wolves are hoping to get things back on track after stuttering of late.

Wanderers have lost three of their last four games, and Gary O’Neil is seeking a response to the defeat against West Ham United last weekend.

It was a tough one to take with the VAR call at the end. But ultimately, Wolves weren’t good enough in the second-half against the Hammers, and need to improve.

It’s Forest up next on Saturday, and another meeting with former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Wolves have faced the Portuguese twice before, when he was manager of Tottenham Hotspur. On both occasions, Spurs won – first in the Carabao Cup on penalties and then in the Premier League 0-1 at Molineux.

It will be the first ever meeting between O’Neil and Nuno, and it promises to be a competitive affair.

Games between these two have been spicy in the past and previously, Morgan Gibbs-White has not been shy in provoking the fans that used to sing his name. That is something Daniel Podence even admitted after the two sides met in this fixture last season.

Ahead of this game, Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa gave his verdict on the former Molineux youngster…

At the moment, Forest are languishing in 17th place in the Premier League table, having recently been hit with a four-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules.

They will be absolutely determined to pull away from the relegation zone, which they are only above now by virtue of having a better goal difference than Luton Town.

But Wolves are still sighting for European football, and will see this game as winnable.

Gibbs-White will probably have a big role to play for the Reds. The 24-year-old joined Forest from Wolves in the summer of 2022 for a fee that could eventually reach £42.5 million.

Jose Sa was speaking about the upcoming game, and believes Gibbs-White is a player Wolves must be wary of.

The £7 million man told the club’s official website: “They need to win or draw all of the games, they need to win points, and it’s a very important game for them. They have quality players, they have a quality team, and it will be a tough game.

“Morgan is a very good player and a very good guy. I worked with him here and he was a very good guy, who has a lot of quality.”

Gibbs-White needs close attention on Saturday

It will be important for Wolves to keep Gibbs-White as quiet as possible on Saturday, because he’s one of their biggest threats.

He’s not scored or assisted in the four appearances he’s made against Wolves since leaving the club, and hopefully he will continue not making an impact this weekend.

He’s got five goals and seven assists so far this season for Forest, and was recently revealed to be the highest-rated Forest player in the Premier League so far this term (via Whoscored).

The likes of Joao Gomes and Mario Lemina will be charged with picking him up. But he also likes to drift out to the right-hand side, so Toti Gomes and whoever is playing left wing-back will also have to keep tabs.

Nullifying Gibbs-White will definitely be key for Wolves if they are to pick up points this weekend.
