21-year-old Tottenham target now named PL rival's player of the month in 'landslide' victory

One player Tottenham Hotspur have on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window has now been named by one of their Premier League rivals as the player of the month.

Spurs fans have plenty to look forward to ahead of the end of the season. There looks to be a very good chance that Ange Postecoglou’s side will be playing in the Champions League next year.

Tottenham put a lot of their top-flight rivals to shame in January, managing to sign both Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin in their push to build on a brilliant start to the campaign.

It seems that their list of targets for the summer is starting to come together. Tottenham are interested in Tosin Adarabioyo as his Fulham contract edges closer to expiring.

But he is not the only Premier League defender on Spurs’ radar.

It was reported this week that Tottenham are keen on Bournemouth centre-back Illya Zabarnyi.

Spurs were eyeing the 21-year-old before his £24 million move to the Vitality Stadium. And thus, it may not come as a huge surprise to many that Tottenham are monitoring him ahead of the summer.

It certainly appears that the Ukraine international is impressing with his form right now.

Bournemouth announced on their official website today that the defender has been named as their player of the month for March. In fact, they note that he won the vote in a landslide.

Move for youngster may make perfect sense for Ange Postecoglou

Andoni Iraola’s men won three and drew one of their four games in the month, with Zabarnyi scoring in their remarkable comeback over Luton.

Meanwhile, he managed seven clearances in the 2-0 win over Burnley, according to Whoscored.

Tottenham do not necessarily need a player who is the finished article to come in this summer. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have formed such an impressive partnership. And Radu Dragusin clearly has a lot of potential.

So Zabarnyi may tick a lot of boxes because he is yet to realise his full potential. But obviously, he is someone who has plenty of Premier League experience, as well as plenty of room to improve further in the years to come.
