Harry Kane responds when asked if Arsenal have improved and could now win Premier League

Harry Kane has responded to being asked whether Arsenal are a better team this season and whether he believes that Mikel Arteta’s men can win the Premier League.

There seems to be a very good chance that the Gunners end the season with a piece of major silverware.

With seven games remaining, Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League. They sit ahead of Liverpool on goal difference, while Manchester City are a point behind.

Meanwhile, they are in with a fantastic chance of reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League following their return to the competition this season.

Of course, it is Harry Kane and Bayern Munich standing between Arsenal and a place in the last four. And the quarter-final tie is perfectly poised after a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Harry Kane asked about Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes

Kane scored upon his return to North London, sending David Raya the wrong way from the penalty spot.

In the mixed zone after the game, Kane went on to be asked whether Arsenal are a better side from the team he previously faced while wearing a Tottenham Hotspur kit. And that was followed by a question over whether Arsenal can win the Premier League.

“I mean they were good last year and they just fell short,” he said, concerning their improvement.

“It will be tough but who knows. It’s not for me to say,” he added when asked about their title hopes.

Bayern Munich star has avoided doing Mikel Arteta’s team talk for him

It is a pretty diplomatic answer. And you can understand where Kane is coming from.

Ultimately, Kane’s loyalty will still lie with Tottenham, so he will not want to give Arsenal too much credit.

But he will also be wary of doing the Gunners’ team talk for them ahead of the second-leg.

The tie is absolutely in the balance. So writing off their Premier League title hopes would definitely motivate the Arsenal players ahead of their trip to the Allianz Arena.

It is perhaps not the most exciting answer in the world. But it is probably the right answer.
