Gary Lineker says Man City made ‘stupid’ transfer decision as Jamie Carragher slams Erling Haaland

A round-up of the latest Man City headlines as the Blues recover from their thrilling 3-3 draw with Real Madrid and prepare to face Luton Town in the Premier League on Saturday.

Gary Lineker says Man City made ‘stupid’ transfer decision

Gary Lineker believes Manchester City made a foolish decision in last summer’s transfer window.

No, it’s not in regards to the fact they didn’t sign another defensive midfielder to provide adequate cover for Rodri.

The Spanish stalwarts performances have dipped this week and he has admitted he is in urgent need of a rest.

But with few options to take his place in the team, Pep Guardiola is unlikely to give it to him any time soon.

Instead, Lineker was expressing his disbelief over the fact City sold Cole Palmer to Chelsea.

The forward has been fantastic at Stamford Bridge this season, scoring 19 goals and grabbing 13 assists already. Click below to see what he said.

Jamie Carragher slams Erling Haaland

Jamie Carragher has become the latest pundit to criticise Erling Haaland following Tuesday’s 3-3 draw with Real Madrid.

The Norwegian striker failed to get on the score sheet at the Bernabeu and was rarely involved in the match-up.

It’s another quiet display in what has been an underwhelming 2024 so far and Carragher has moved to criticise an aspect of his game.

Danny Murphy says Jude Bellingham was upstaged against Man City

Pundit Danny Murphy believes one City player showed up Jude Bellingham on Tuesday.

Bellingham was quiet in the match by his own incredibly high standards, with Rodrygo and Federico Valverde grabbing a goal each as well as the plaudits.

Bellingham still managed to squeeze in some lovely flicks and passes but Murphy says one City player was much better. Find out who by clicking below.
