Over 10,000 civilians killed by Russia since start of war – UN report

Security Council noted that Kharkiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipro and Donetsk oblasts are under constant attacks. UN representatives strongly condemned Russia’s attacks on civilians and stated that such attacks are a violation of international laws and are classified as war crimes.

Humanitarian situation in Ukraine is also deteriorating. According to UN, 40% of the country’s population is in need of humanitarian aid, but its delivery is hampered by frequent Russian strikes. In addition, humanitarian organizations are not allowed to enter territories occupied by Russia.

17 employees of humanitarian organizations have been killed since the start of Russian war on Ukraine, according to UN.

Office of the Prosecutor General, as of April 11, reported more than 1,831 children in Ukraine suffered because of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression, 542 of whom have died.

In February 2024, the United Nations confirmed in its report that civilian casualties in Ukraine during the two years of the full-scale invasion amounted to 30,457 people. At least 10,582 civilians were killed and 19,875 were injured.
