Special Forces of the National Guard of Ukraine entered the positions of the Russian occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia direction. They destroyed two Russian howitzers and a mortar, according to National Guard commander Oleksandr Pivnenko.

"In the Zaporizhzhia direction, soldiers of the 1st assault detachment of the Omega Special Forces Center conducted aerial reconnaissance deep into the contact line and discovered enemy artillery positions," he says.

According to Pivnenko, having bypassed Russia's electronic warfare system, the National Guard's special forces accurately hit their targets, destroying two D-30 howitzers and a 120-mm mortar.

Situation at the front

In Ukraine, 78 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. The Russian troops are trying to break through at the Bakhmut and Novopavlivka directions.

According to the Institute of War Studies, positional battles continue in several areas - in the east and south of Ukraine, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to repel Russian attacks and hold back the Russian occupiers.
