Report: Crystal Palace keen to hand Oliver Glasner his very own Paul Pogba this summer

As we approach the summer transfer window, Crystal Palace have now been linked with a brand new target, but who is it?

Ahead of this summer window, the sheer number of players being linked with a move to Selhurst Park tells us it’s going to be a busy window.

Oliver Glasner will be keen to upgrade multiple positions, while he might also have to replace some current star players.

For Crystal Palace, there will also be several departures with eight first-team contracts expiring in the summer, all of which will need to be replaced to some degree.

Now, Palace have been linked with signing a midfield gem currently ripping it up in Belgium.

Crystal Palace want to sign Raphael Onyedika this summer

So this latest transfer story for Crystal Palace sees Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika linked with a move.

It comes from the Turkish outlet Cumhuriyet, which explains that Galatasaray had been keen on the Nigerian talent, but now Premier League interest has arrived for the 22-year-old.

Palace is credited with being an interested party, being joined by both Everton and Nottingham Forest.

The Eagles will have a serious advantage here, given the other two English sides are under severe PSR pressure having already had points deductions.

Onyedika is likely to cost in the region of £10m and could be an excellent option to add some quality to the side in depth.

But who is he, what are his qualities and what can he bring to Glasner’s side? Let’s have a look.

Who is Raphael Onyedika?

Onyedika is a 22-year-old, all-action midfielder who is capable of contributing goals and being a more defensive option.

In Onyedika, Palace could be getting their very own version of Paul Pogba, something the player himself has commented on as per Voetbal Nieuws.

“Personally, I look up to Paul Pogba. A lot of people say we look alike, but I just want to be the best version of myself.”

Most recently he’s been on fire in the Championship Group playoff in the Belgian league, scoring twice in just two games.

He has also been hugely impressive in the Europa Conference League as Club Brugge looks like they are heading to the semi-finals.

A very impressive player who we’d love to see in the squad for Glasner next season. One to watch.
