Pep Guardiola provides update on the condition of Rodri

Pep Guardiola gave his pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester City vs Luton Town on Friday afternoon.

City return to Premier League action and will be hoping to pile the pressure on title rivals Liverpool and Arsenal as they again play first this weekend.

The Blues were in Champions League action on Tuesday and played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

After the match, Rodri admitted he was in dire need of a rest after playing so many games this season and Guardiola was asked about it.

The manager said: “If a player doesn’t want to play he’s not going to play. It’s simple. Another one’s going to play.”

Cesc Fabregas says City need big star back to his best

Though City did really well to battle against Real Madrid and escape the Bernabeu with a draw, they rode their luck at times.

Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr had plenty of joy down the flanks and the former should have scored more than just the one he did manage.

With the second leg to come next week, a crucial FA Cup semi-final afterwards and seven Premier League matches left to play, Fabregas said on Planet Premier League City need one of their biggest stars to get back to his best if they are to win more silverware.
