'Anything can always happen': Sky Sports pundit now predicts the score when Leeds face Blackburn today

David Prutton has shared his prediction for Leeds United’s home match with Blackburn Rovers today.

The Whites will be looking to get their push for automatic promotion back on track after faltering in the last few weeks, picking up just five points from a possible 12 available.

Coventry City inflicted Leeds’ first defeat of 2024 last weekend but Daniel Farke’s side were unable to get back to winning ways as they were held to a very disappointing 0-0 draw with Sunderland.

Thankfully for Leeds, though, both Ipswich Town and Leicester City were unable to pick up three points, and so it still remains incredibly close going into the final four matches.

Farke could be tempted to make some changes to his starting XI today in order to provide the team with some fresh impetus, and it is fair to say nothing other than a win would do, with two away matches to follow.

Prutton now predicts the score of Leeds vs Blackburn today

Prutton’s former Leeds teammate Ben Parker has already backed the Whites to come away with a comfortable 3-0 victory in the early Championship early kick-off today.

Blackburn come into the game on the back of a humiliating 5-0 defeat at Bristol City on Wednesday, and Leeds will be hoping to take advantage of some potentially low confidence levels.

Prutton has shared his prediction in his latest weekly EFL column for Sky Sports, and believes Leeds will return to winning ways against a side who are ‘arguably the worst’ in the league aside from Rotherham, at the moment.

He said: “It has been another tricky week for Leeds. But, even with promotion out of their own hands, the feeling remains that winning their four remaining games will be more than enough.

“That quartet begins against Blackburn, who are arguably the worst team in the league aside from Rotherham right now. At Bristol City they were abysmal and they have picked up just two calendar wins all year. How one of them was a 5-1 victory at Sunderland, no one will ever know.

“This should be an easy pickings of a three points, but in the Championship anything can always happen. Prediction: Leeds 3-1 Blackburn.

Gnonto simply has to come in on the right-hand-side in place of the under-performing Dan James, as he has looked sharp in both of his appearances off the bench since returning from injury.

Connor Roberts is also a viable shout at right-back, which could then in turn see Archie Gray move into midfield for Glen Kamara.

Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe will also be keen to show what they can do from the start, though Farke is never one for wholesale changes.
