‘Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at his best’: Claim made about £63m striker Arsenal keeping tabs on

Arsenal are doing extremely well at the moment, and it is remarkable that manager Mikel Arteta is achieving so much success without having a world-class striker in his squad.

Bukayo Saka is the top scorer for Arsenal in all competitions this season, and he is a winger by trade.

Gabriel Jesus is the number one striker for Arsenal, but the Brazil international has had injury concerns and is not prolific. Kai Havertz has been deployed as a false nine.

Arsenal need to sign a striker in the summer transfer window if they are to continue to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title in the coming years.

One of the strikers Arsenal are keeping an eye on is Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.

HITC reported in March that the Gunners have been checking on Isak this season, as the North London club look for a new striker.

The £63 million (Sky Sports) Sweden international striker is frustrated with Newcastle’s season, and the lack of European football could be an issue for him.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino rates Isak highly and has compared him to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang, who is now at Marseille, is one of the best strikers to have played for Arsenal in recent years.

The 34-year-old scored 92 goals in 163 matches in all competitions for Arsenal.

Arsenal target Alexander Isak compared to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Cascarino wrote about Isak in The Times: “The Sweden forward often plays on the fringes of a game and you forget he is there, but then he suddenly sticks one into the top corner.

“He is quick and confident and has the demeanour of a great goalscorer — he reminds me of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at his best.”

Arsenal move could be tempting for Alexander Isak

In my opinion, Arsenal could be able to sign Alexander Isak from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are a bigger club than Newcastle. The Gunners could win the Premier League and even the UEFA Champions League, while the Magpies are not going to end up in the top four.

The Gunners need a striker, and Isak does fit the bill. The Sweden international is only 24 now, so it means that he could still develop and progress.

Isak has a good record at Newcastle as well. The striker has scored 25 goals and given two assists in 45 Premier League matches so far in his career.

I think that Isak would find a potential move to Arsenal very appealing. After all, the North London club are back to being a force to be reckoned with.
