‘He’s not worried’: Alasdair Gold suggests £2m player would happily sign for Tottenham as a squad player

Tottenham Hotspur need to add a bit of depth to their defence this summer.

With Micky Van de Ven’s hamstring problems persisting and Cristian Romero’s well-documented disciplinary issues, Spurs may need to add another body in the defence.

However, making that sort of signing may be easier said than done.

With Radu Dragusin also in the mix, it’s not going to be easy for Tottenham to convince any talented defender to come in and be potentially fourth-choice.

However, according to Alasdair Gold, speaking on his YouTube channel, there is one defender Spurs have been courting who’s not so worried about that potential challenge.

Tottenham target happy to sign as a squad player

According to Gold, Tosin Adarabioyo is happy to sign for Spurs even as a fourth-choice defender.

“I know from what I understand Spurs are expected to firm up their interest in Tosin Adarabioyo at the end of the season on a free transfer. He’s been a star player for Fulham this season, we saw first-hand against Spurs that he helped Fulham keep a clean sheet. Fulham have been unable to keep him and there’s a growing interest in him,” Gold said.

“Yeah, any player who is going to come in in that fourth centre-back spot is going to have a battle on their hands with Van de Ven, Romero and Dragusin as well. But from what I understand is that he’s not worried about that challenge if that was the move he makes.”

Tosin Adarabioyo is backing himself

Tosin Adarabioyo may be happy to sign for Spurs and face this challenge, but make no mistake about it, he won’t want to be on the bench for too long.

This is a player with bags of confidence in his own ability, and we wouldn’t be at all shocked if he managed to work his way into the first-team before too long if Spurs signed him.

Tosin has improved year on year since joining Fulham for £2m back in 2020, and now, he’s ready for that next step.
