How Morgan Gibbs-White celebrated after scoring for Forest vs Wolves

Wolves and Nottingham Forest faced off on Saturday afternoon, with nothing separating the two sides, but one player caused a controversial moment.

This Saturday, Wolves were ultimately lucky to pick up a point against Forest during a 2-2 draw which saw a goal fest.

Matheus Cunha was on fire for the away side as he grabbed a brace on his return to the starting line-up.

But Forest grabbed some goals of their own, with Morgan Gibbs-White scoring before Danilo grabbed their second.

A draw is ultimately a decent result, which neither side will protest too much, but there was one moment in the game which won’t have left the Molineux supporters happy.

How Gibbs-White celebrated scoring vs Wolves

After departing Wolves in 2022, there’s never been much love between Old Gold and Gibbs-White.

The attacking midfielder banked Wolves a massive £42.5m yet tensions between player and former club are high.

Gibbs-White grabbed the first Forest goal of the game and after doing so, celebrated by taunting the away fans.

He ran to the corner before giving the ears to the away fans and kissing the Forest badge as Nathan Judah tweeted.

The celebration is pretty disrespectful to his old side, particularly after Jose Sa spoke glowingly about him earlier in the week.

Matheus Cunha’s response shows why he’s a fan favourite

Wolves’ standout player against Forest by quite a margin was Cunha as the Brazilian returned to the starting line-up.

He scored twice for Old Gold with his second being particularly pleasing as it drew the two sides level.

In response to Gibbs-White’s celebration, Cunha did one of his own.

Judah tweeted that upon scoring his second, Cunha “gives it the Gibbs-White ears to the away [fans]”.

He added that “you LOVE to see it”, which is true with Cunha’s celebration being something which will have made many a Wolves fan smile.
