MUTV pundit says he's a 'big fan' of 'fearless' player that Ten Hag has only played five times this season

Manchester United drew with Bournemouth on Saturday evening, with one player doing enough to warrant praise from an MUTV pundit.

For Erik ten Hag, priorities have changed very quickly from chasing Champions League football to now being on the verge of a worst-ever finish.

This comes as Manchester United drew at the Vitality against Bournemouth in a 2-2 result.

The game saw Bruno Fernandes bag a brace, with Owen Hargreaves raving about the Portuguese maestro’s impact.

But now another player has been praised, this time by MUTV’s Phil Bardsley who was left impressed by one player who Ten Hag has only played five times this season.

Phil Bardsley admits he’s a big fan of Amad Diallo

Speaking post-game on MUTV, Bardsley was discussing his thoughts about the game while on punditry duty.

In doing so, he picked out one player as a bit of a shining light on a miserable day for United, that being Amad Diallo.

“Big fan, yeah. His attitude, his application, you know he’s direct, he’s fearless when he comes on. Obviously, it’s not an easy game to come into but I think he made a bit of a difference today.

“He’s got good pace, he’s got good technical ability, and he’s fighting for his place in that team now and putting players under pressure to get a regular start.”

After the display that Alejandro Garnacho put on against the Cherries, Amad looks well-placed to start the game against Coventry next weekend.

Amad Diallo has to start for Manchester United next week

Next weekend at Wembley against Coventry it’s United’s last chance this season for something to play for.

Reaching the final against either Chelsea or Man City would be a blockbuster and a massive game to end the season, rather than ending with a whimper.

So with recent displays not being good enough, changes are required and one of these changes should be a start for Amad.

Others such as Mason Mount deserve to be starting as the current starters underperform.

Against a Championship opponent, United must win.
