Fabrizio Romano details ‘possibility’ that ‘outstanding’ Arsenal gem leaves in summer

Fabrizio Romano has now detailed the ‘possibility’ of one of Arsenal’s most exciting youngsters leaving for good this summer.

It’s been quite the season for some of Hale End’s most illustrious talents, with the likes of Mika Biereth, Charlie Patino and Arthur Okonkwo all enjoying fantastic years out on loan away from Arsenal.

Yet with Mikel Arteta’s side as strong as it has ever been, the possibility of any academy graduate making it into Arsenal’s senior squad now remains low, with only the best of the best, such as Ethan Nwaneri, having a real shot at making the leap into the first-team.

And this summer could see a number of youngsters leave Arsenal for good, with the Gunners in need of raising some capital.

Romano details ‘possibility’ of Charlie Patino leaving Arsenal

Now, according to transfer guru Romano, there’s a real chance that Patino could leave Arsenal in the summer, with the on-loan Swansea midfielder earlier this week linked with a move away from north London on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old playmaker is regarded as one of Arsenal’s most exciting young prospects, yet with first-team opportunities next year set to be limited, it would make sense for Patino to look for a move to further his potentially exciting career.

“At the moment, there are no talks between Charlie Patino and Arsenal over a new deal. So it’s a possibility for the young midfielder to leave the club in the summer.

“But I’m told that final decision will be made at the end of the season when there will be talks with the player’s representatives. Let’s see how that conversation will go.”

Arsenal will have to make some hard decisions this summer

Seeing a player like Patino leave Arsenal will be hard for some fans, with the midfielder viewed by many as a superstar in the making and a talent who could have thrived in Arteta’s system.

However, with the Basque coach seemingly ready to make some hard decisions this summer, Patino could now be a key source of revenue for Arsenal, with a major payday now potentially in the works.

Indeed, Patino’s departure will be a harsh one for many, yet given the direction Arsenal are heading in, the sale might be necessary if the north London side are to reach the next stage of their evolution under Arteta.
