Moyes confidant's striker claim could see West Ham complete Greek Holy Trinity

A David Moyes confidant has made a striker claim which could see West Ham complete an impressive Greek Holy Trinity.

West Ham face a very busy summer indeed with a host of signings needed in key positions.

The Hammers already have the joint smallest and second oldest squad in the Premier League.

Six of the current West Ham first team squad are also out of contract this summer.

Michail Antonio turns 35 next season while Danny Ings’ face simply doesn’t fit under David Moyes.

The Hammers did not replace Gianluca Scamacca so at least one if not two new forwards will be needed.

Steidten in charge of Hammers rebuild

Thankfully West Ham have the perfect man in place to lead the rebuild. That being technical director Tim Steidten.

And it seems West Ham have been so impressed with one of Steidten’s signings that they want to go out and get one if not two of his international teammates.

It looks like a case of get him to the Greek for Steidten.

West Ham want to complete Greek Holy Trinity?

Konstantino Mavropanos has been extremely impressive since joining for what looks a bargain £17.5m last summer.

West Ham have been heavily linked with Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis since last summer.

Fans will remember burly and pacy Pavlidis from the games against AZ Alkmaar in Europe last year.

Earlier this month a Sky Sports reporter claimed Hammers target Pavlidis wants his big move to the Premier League this summer. And AZ will sell the Eredivisie’s top scorer for between £12-15m as he goes into the last year of his contract.

That looks like another potential bargain for a 25-year-old who can play right across the frontline.

Journalist close to Moyes says West Ham eye Ioannidis

Now Scottish journalist Alan Nixon, who counts Moyes among his close contacts, says West Ham also want another Greek forward – Fotis Ioannidis.

The 24-year-old Panathinaikos ace has 21 goals in 38 appearances for the Greek league leaders this term.

At 6ft 2in, he would form a formidable new-look strike force with his 6ft 1in international strike partner Pavlidis in West Ham are genuinely interested in the pair.

Like Pavlidis, Ioannidis is said to be valued at just £15m by his club and is seen as a “squad signing” according to Nixon on his Partreon.

“Fulham and West Ham are checking out prolific Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ionnaidis,” Nixon said.

“Ionnaidis is valued at around £15 million by the Greek club but they will let him fulfil his Premier League dream if the offers are decent.”
