Toney could be up front for West Ham next season according to Sky Sports journalist

A Sky Sports journalist has claimed Ivan Toney could be up front for West Ham next season in an exciting update on the striker’s future.

Ivan Toney has been linked with a move to West Ham on several occasions in the past.

West Ham are very much on the hunt for a new forward this summer.

Gianluca Scamacca was not replaced by David Moyes after being sold following a solitary season in east London.

Ageing Danny Ings’ face does not fit under the manager and Michail Antonio turns 35 next season.

Bees manager Thomas Frank has admitted Toney will be sold this summer.

Toney one of Sullivan’s biggest West Ham regrets

But Toney’s success at Brentford had attracted the attention of a host of elite clubs and seemingly put paid to West Ham’s hopes of bringing him to the London Stadium.

Toney has been a longstanding target for West Ham. Indeed the Hammers famously passed up the chance of signing Toney from Peterborough for just £10m.

West Ham majority owner David Sullivan lists that decision among the worst of all his time in football.

Top transfer insider Graeme Bailey exclusively told Hammers News recently that West Ham remain interested in Toney.

West Ham’s hopes have been boosted as there is a feeling the 28-year-old’s shot at a move to an Arsenal or Chelsea has now passed him by.

The transfer window opens on June 14th for domestic deals.

Toney could be up front for Hammers claims journalist

And Toney could be up front for West Ham next season according to a Sky Sports journalist.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has delivered an exciting update on Toney’s future and it concerns West Ham.

“News on Ivan Toney, the 28 year-old striker could leave Brentford in summer,” Plettenberg said on X.

“West Ham have inquired but it’s not hot at this stage.

“Been told the price tag is around £30-40m all-in at the moment.

“Many clubs from the Premier League are interested. Chelsea and Arsenal are monitoring him closely for summer.

“Four goals and one assist this Premier League season thus far.”

Ivan the incredible for West Ham?

Toney could be an absolute game-changer for West Ham.

Imagine him leading the line with Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus either side.

Money will not be an issue for the Hammers as Lucas Paqueta is expected to be sold for £85m to Man City if the FA case against him is concluded favourably.

West Ham can rest easy regarding replacements, though, with Tim Steidten leading recruitment.

Some fans have been sceptical that West Ham are being linked with the likes of Toney ahead of the season ticket renewal deadline.

We don’t have too long to wait to find out.
