Diss and District Horticultural Society’s flower show is the pick of the bunch

Green-fingered enthusiasts showed off their blooming best when Diss and District Horticultural Society held its spring show.

The society, which holds monthly meetings at the United Reformed Church in Mere Street, Diss, set its members the challenge of displaying their finest floral pieces at Roydon Village Hall on April 6.

Society secretary Graham Pettitt said its committee felt the show was once again a success.

“Despite the mild weather advancing spring flowers, the quality was of a high standard, with large numbers entering into the show classes,” he said.

“Public visitor numbers were also very good. The officers of the society would like to thank everyone who helped stage and man the show, as well as those who exhibited and attended for their support.”

The society’s next event will be its autumn show, which will return to Roydon Village Hall on Saturday, September 7, between 11am and 4pm.
