Police Say Overdose May Be To Blame After Woman’s Body Found In The Mangroves

TAMPA, Fla. \- The Tampa Police Department is investigating an undetermined death at 5123 W Gandy Blvd.

According to investigators, on Saturday, at 5:42 PM, officers were notified of a deceased body located within the mangroves along the shoreline.

While this remains an active investigation, there is nothing to suggest foul play. Preliminary information suggests that the death may be the result of an overdose. The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the exact cause of death.

"At this time, the deceased has not been identified. The cause of death is undetermined and still under investigation," said Police at the time
