Davenport Police Searching For Suspect After Woman Stabbed 15 Times

DAVENPORT, Fla. \- The Davenport Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating an individual wanted for the attempted murder of his cousin.

On Thursday, April 11, at approximately 1:00 pm, officers responded to a residence in the Highland Meadows neighborhood regarding a report of a stabbing.

Investigation revealed that 47-year-old Douglas Kidd stabbed his cousin more than 15 times and then fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement officers.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

"This was a horrific attack, and we will go to great lengths to get his dangerous individual off the streets," says Chief Steve Parker.

Detectives have no information as to what precipitated Kidd's attack on his family member.

The victim's identity is being withheld in accordance with Marsy's Law.

"We are praying for the victim's recovery following this ordeal," Chief Parker says.
