Arsenal tipped for £100m summer transfer amid Martin Odegaard claim

Catch a round-up of the latest Arsenal news, including updates on Charlie Patino, Bruno Guimaraes and Martin Odegaard.

Charlie Patino Arsenal transfer exit

Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino continues to be linked with a permanent transfer exit ahead of the summer transfer window. The promising 20-year-old is currently on his second loan spell in the Championship with Swansea City, having spent the first at Blackpool the season before.

While Patino has shown glimpses of his ability for the future, it also appears as though a switch away from the Gunners is on the cards. Fabrizio Romano discussed the midfielder’s future, telling CaughtOffside: “At the moment, there are no talks between Charlie Patino and Arsenal over a new deal.

“So it’s a possibility for the young midfielder to leave the club in the summer. But I’m told that final decision will be made at the end of the season when there will be talks with the player’s representatives. Let’s see how that conversation will go.”

Bruno Guimaraes tipped to join Arsenal

Arsenal have been tipped to land Newcastle United midfield star Bruno Guimaraes in the summer transfer window. It comes as the Gunners were previously linked with the Brazilian, who ended up joining the Magpies instead.

An impressive stint with the club has helped them push towards consistent European qualification, though concerns have arisen over their financial situation. It led to former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara tipping a few big exits from the northeast this summer.

“How much will you sell Isak for? I think Villa are interested as well. How much will he go for?” O’Hara teased on TalkSPORT. “We [Tottenham] will give you £60million for him. We will take him off your hands. Bruno [Guimaraes] will go to Arsenal as well, just letting you know. You have to regroup next season. You will stay up.”

Bruno Guimaraes is claimed to have a £100million release clause in his contract, which could be triggered in the summer.

Martin Odegaard Aston Villa claim

Arsenal fans have questioned Mikel Arteta’s decision to bring off club captain Martin Odegaard in their clash with Aston Villa. The Gunners fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of former boss Unai Emery, in a frustrating tie.

Chances were being created but not taken by the home side, with Odegaard the key playmaker. However, in a roll of the dice, the manager brought the Norway international off in favour of Emile Smith Rowe, which raised a few eyebrows.

Arsenal fans have since all given the same verdict on the substitution from Arteta.
